Updates

Dear 4T Families,

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing spring vacation!

We've had a great week in 4T especially with our field trip to Lowell. The kids had a wonderful time and were excited to share their learning when we returned to school. Thank you to all the chaperones that helped make the trip a success!

In Social Studies, we started to learn all about government. We had Senator Innis visit as well as three Representatives.  We studied all about laws, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the three branches of government. The kids performed skits to demonstrate what life would be like without laws. They were funny and informative!

We also learned about electrical circuits and students were tasked with lighting a bulb with a battery, wire, and light bulb.

Happy spring vacation!

Updates

Happy Sunday!

This week we will begin the Smarter Balance test. We will be testing each morning starting at 9:00. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time each day.

We have a half-day on Wednesday for parent teacher conferences.

Next Thursday, we will be traveling to Lowell Mills.

We have been learning all about energy in science. We made rubber band racers, roller coasters, and students chose one type of energy to research with their group and teach the class about. I was so impressed with their presentations.

In reading we finished our unit on social issues. Students made informational brochures to demonstrate what they learned about their social issue. We will begin historical fiction book clubs next week!

In math we just finished our first fraction unit.  We will begin our second fraction unit this week. We will focus on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and you were able to enjoy the sunshine!
