Week #2

I can't believe our second week of 4th grade is already over! It sure went by fast. Here's a peek into our week.
  • We started Reading Workshop. We discussed what it looks like, sounds like and feels like when we read independently. We also learned that readers track their thoughts with sticky notes. Our books our quickly being filled with notes about our reading!
  • In writing, we wrote about our goals for 4th grade, decorated our writer's notebooks, and brainstormed things we love.
  • We learned about digital citizenship and the importance  of being safe online. Our class is going to be "upstanders," kids who stand up to bullying and cyber bullying!
  • Kidblog was introduced. Our class site is www.kidblog.org/misstingle
  • Front Row, IXL, and Xtramath were all introduced.
  • We learned about math workshop and practiced rotating through stations.
  • And last but not least, we Saved Fred! We are still working on building our classroom community and what better way than to save a poor gummy worm that fell off his boat and needed to get his life vest back on!
