- We started our first unit of math. We reviewed place value, rounding, and comparing multi-digit numbers.
- We continued to use our writing journals to collect seed ideas for stories. We also spent time writing on Kidblog.
- We watched videos of scientists and discussed what it means to be a scientist. We found out that scientists are really just normal people. They don't all have crazy hair!
- We spent time writing about our reading and finished our first read aloud, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.
- We celebrated Dot Day and learned that everyone can leave their mark on the world.
- We ended the week with 4th grade activity!
It was nice to meet so many parents at Curriculum Night. I know it can be hard to get your child to talk about their day so here are some questions you can ask to promote a conversation!
- What is Kahoot?
- What are you writing about on Kidblog?
- What book are you currently reading?
- What happened to Dribble in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing?
- What types of jobs to scientists do?
- How can you use QR scanners in math?
- What was your favorite math game this week?
- What did you do at 4th grade activity this week?
Here's a great blog post about the benefits of Kidblog.
There will be an early release on September 23rd.
Enjoy the warm weather this weekend!
