In science, we began learning about erosion. We used our stream tables to learn how rain and slopes can change the amount of erosion that occurs. Students really thought like scientists, recording all of their observations in their notebooks. We will continue to investigate erosion next week!
In math, we spent most of the week learning partial-product multiplication. This is a new strategy for many students and they all caught on very quickly. I know many parents are eager to teach their child the traditional way. We will be learning that next week!
In writing, we are wrapping up our winter stories. We have worked on planning, organizing, drafting, and now editing our writing. They are coming out great!
We had a Mystery Skype with a class in Massachusetts on Tuesday! It was the first state in New England that we've Skyped with!
On Wednesday, there will be a half day.
We will be traveling to Concord next Friday and will have a small Valentine's Day exchange when we return.
If your child is bored today, please remind them that part of their homework last night was to write a blog post. :)
Enjoy your day!
